This post is dedicated to congratulate the winner – Zadman5311 – of this last weekend Pokerstars Sunday Million and Pokerstars.com for the 2 records that were set!
This was the largest ever prize pool = $3,656,600 with the largest ever field of players = 18,283 of the Pokerstars Sunday Million with a buy-in of $215 NL Holdem.
With this amount the top 5 players would get six-figures prizes and the number one could get $365,670.77. I say… That must be a good daily salary anywhere in the world
After 11 hours we end up with the following player lineup for the final table:
Name - Amount of chips
ZyeD3 – 22,839,804
Zadman5311 – 17,636,300
The Omaholic – 18,935,611
MATPOC28 – 18,997,596
m8675309a – 24,108,668
Guldlemmen4 – 43,419,898
waWe – 15,883,436
E-Daddie – 7,938,832
call110 – 13,069,855

When the table come down to 6 players they decided to start a discussion on how could they split the pot. Team PokerStars Pro Ivan Demidov was the host of the final table and supported during the discussion. With $30,000 set aside for the eventual winner the payouts were defined like this:
ZyeD3 (15,519,804 in chips) = $144,353.10
Zadman5311 (44,532,600 in chips) = $252,662.86
m8675309a (30,384,279 in chips) = $200,844.74
Guldlemmen4 (23,099,863 in chips) = $177,650.76
waWe (30,553,744 in chips) = $205,477.38
call110 (38,739,710 in chips) = $250,037.00
From that moment on the action continued with very good poker demonstrated by these players and end up with the following final hand:
m8675309a pushed all-in for 7,769,952 holding [Qd] [Tc], and Zadman5311 called quickly with [As] [4h]. The board came [7h] [2d] [8s] [2h] [Jh], and the ace kicker worked to eliminate m8675309a in second place.
Zadman5311 was the winner of the biggest $215 Pokerstars Sunday Million in history, claiming tournament title with a nice paycheck of $282,662.86!!!
Congratulations!!!

Hello everyone! Today I have prepared another review on another great poker event which took place in Spain, Barcelona – the Europen Poker Tour (EPT) 6.
Every year there are more and more players registering and, of course, more and more name pros show up to take a chance at every time increasing prize-pool. Last year for example there were 619 contestants, who made the trip to Barcelona and the winner, Sebastian Ruthenberg, took home a prize of €1,361,000. The tournament counted also with many pros like Greg Raymer, Bertrand Grospellier (ElkY), Luca Pagano and Isabelle Mercier.
This year the tournament hosted by Pokerstars.com was a 6-Day event from September 4, 2009 to September 9, 2009 and had a buy-in of €8,300. A total of 479 players registered and were ready to collect a part of the total prize pool of €3,832,000.
Qualifying was possible live at the Casino Barcelona for €220 but for a lot of the players it’s always better to get your seat online, via the qualifiers offered by PokerStars.com – the biggest online poker site. Online satellites were running from as little as $2.22+111 FPPs. You could have also tried your luck through SnG tournaments. Through the special Pokerstars Steps promotion, players could earn their own EPT Barcelona package (which is much more comfortable and cheaper) for as little as $7.5 or 500 FPPs.
This year’s EPT Barcelona was full of action. It took 5 days for the Main Event to the final table and the last 8 players had the following amount of chips:
1 - Georgios Kapalas - 826,000
2 - Mihai Manole - 410,000
3 - Santiago Terrazas Ambite - 546,000
4 - Asa Smith - 1,380,000
5 - Carter Phillips - 4,421,000
6 - Matt Lapossie - 2,938,000
7 - Toni Ojala - 754,000
8 - Marc Goodwin - 3,100,000
Carter Phillips managed to maintain his chip leader position and with proper play he finally finished in HU (heads-up) against Marc Goodwin – also well-known poker player, who has finished 3rd in Monte Carlo Millions 2005. After tough battle, which took more than 2 hours, this was the final hand:
On board Kd 5c 4h Qs has invested Goodwin about 4 million chips into 3 million chips pot with Ac 10s . After some time, there Phillips has decided to call with Kc Js . River didn’t improve Goodwin’s bluff and Carter Phillips took 1st place with EUR 850,000 and left Marc Goodwin on 2nd place with EUR 530,000.
Here are the results of the final table in prizes:
1 — Carter Phillips, USA, PokerStars qualifier — €850,000
2 — Marc Goodwin, UK — €530,000
3 — Santiago Terrazas, Spain, PokerStars player — €300,000
4 — Mihai Manole, Romania — €250,000
5 — Asa Smith, UK — €200,000
6 — Toni Ojala, Finland — €160,000
7 — Matt Lapossie, Canada, PokerStars qualifier — €120,000
8 — Georgios Kapalas, Greece — €80,000
